Finished Sequence

Today we finished our title sequence for education death which was pretty good with very few errors. This means we can hand the title sequence over to Big John which will be added on to the start of the film. All we need to do now is finish Editing the film that will be us Finished EDUCATION DEATH

Education Death

We were giving a task to make a Zombie Film. The first thing we done was make a storyboard such as ideas for the film and different names for the film. We then went on to give the people in our group different Characters such as james being the good guy, me being the bad guy and shaun being the first person to become a zombie. After we gave each other characters we came up with the name education Death. After this we started to film the movie. After we Finished filming me and James started editing the Film together. My favorite scene i filmed was the fight scene between me and James.

Animation

Today we looked over our animation and found some errors so we decided to change a few things such as the lighting and the way it looked. Me And James then started putting the animation together with the new changes. Three terms we also use in animation are frame rate, Onion skinning and also Tweening.
Frame rate is the how fast a number of frames are too make the animation work smoothly the Number of frames per second are 24 we did this when we were making our Flip book so that it would work smoother.
Onion Skinning  Is when you can see the one of the frames to another frame so you can see exactly where the one before was so its in the exact same place we did this on photo shop with our flip book by putting the opacity down to 50% so we could see though then putting it back up to 100%.
Tweening is the drawing between the first Drawing in our flip Book and the last Drawing In our flip book its all the drawing in between the two drawings.

Today in Dees Class

Toady in Dees class we started putting our animation together we done this in a stop motion way my job today was too use the camera and take a picture every time james moved the figure i also blogged  on the trip yesterday by answering some questions on the trip

Big johns Class

Today in Big Johns Class we finished filming our last three scenes of the zombie film which nows means we are finished filming so now we can move on too editing the film. The three Scenes we filmed today were the full intro the scene where i get attacked and also the scene were james gets attacked. So now onto editing....

stirling Uni trip

Yesterday we attended a trip to Stirling  university where we went to a lecture by Paul Thomson On the digital age and people that were born digital which is after the year 1980 the lecture i thought was pretty interesting because i found out things that i didnt know such as everyone is a digital consumer. I also learned about the App Laya which lets you take pictures of a painting or a building and it will give a huge amount of information on the subject.
We then got a trip around the Uni and some of the paintings. I also enjoyed the facilities in Stirling especially the new block such as the library  which had 11 million spent on it also the new area .
Also on the trip we learned about the macrobert centre which we took a trip around we seen some work of different artists in the centre is a centre for artists such as music and also paintings. My Favourite painting at the art centre was a painting a willie roger called 'wee hangover' . we also learned about the puppet animation festival . In the university there was also a travel agents a pharmacy a news agents and also a food court. the library was also pretty cool as it had three levels a toilet on every level and the book shelves were movable. We also talked about going  to the puppet animation festival which is going to be held in the macrobert centre.

Animation

Today for our group animation me and shaun drew up the silhouettes for the animation we then tried to think about different ways we could make the silhouette move the ideas we thought about we using pins and also wire. we then figured out that the easiest thing to use was blue tack on the paper we chose this because its easier to get hold off easier to use and it will give the look of the silhouette a smooth movement to it.

Dees Class- HORROR ANIMATION

Today in Dees class i started looking at horror themes for the Zombie film animation. I started looking at themes such as dark houses, Dark rooms and also houses at night with the moon light shining through the trees. I also started looking at themes as such as blood spatter i did this because i wanted the viewers of the Animation to know that the film was going to be a horror film. I also looked at some Zombie themes such as how a zombie looks and how a Zombie acts.

Big Johns Class

Today in Big Johns Class We continued  filming our zombie film.  We Finished filming shauns scene where he turns into a zombie and attacks emily. Me and james also finished filming our filming fighting scene so most of the filming is done.

Zombie Animation Colour scheme

Todays I worked on the color scheme For the Zombie Film Animation. We decided that we were going to have a Black silhouette walking.





We then decided the barrel that was going to be pushed over by the silhouette was going to be bright yellow so that the barrel its self looks hazardous with a black radio active sign on it.

We also decided that when the barrel gets pushed over that chemical that spills over to make the names of the characters in the film is going to be bright green so it looks like a radio active chemical.



After the spillage the Logo for the film will Come up on the Screen For the logo to be covered in blood coming from the top of the screen go over the top of the logo and end up covering the whole screen.

Today in Dees class we finished our storyboards for our animation we also looked over our production schedule to see if we were working on time. we also finalised our idea and made the music that we are going to use in our animation.

Filming

Today in big johns class we started filming our zombie film Education Death. We filmed our first five scenes for the film which means we are ahead of schedule which gives us more time to edit the film.

Dees Class

Today in Dees Class we made our storyboards for our zombie film title sequence. We started off by thinking of different ideas for our storyboards we then tried to finalize our storyboard ideas.

Title Sequence 3/3/11

Today we started making our production schedule for our title sequence. we made a schedule of what we need to do Ie: storyboards, themes, styles and also what music we are going to use in the Title sequence. In the group i am the story boarder, james is the project manager. shaun is the concept artist, Jodie and Emily are the editors and Roy is doing the sound and music. We also made deadlines for the schedules such as how long we have to do something, the holidays we have and also what date we have to finish by.  

The whole project has to be finished by the 6th of may.
I also found out that this fortnight is fair trade fortnight I found out that the fair trade  mark is 15 years old this month.

Title Seqence Research

Today in Dees Class we started watching different Title Sequences to see what length the different title sequences were, if they were successful, what makes it good and what type of animation was used.

A title sequence is a method used by producers to present there title,key production and cast members.

One of the Title sequences i watched was Psycho which has a very dark title Sequence which has very uneasy music this Title sequence was done by stop motion. I think as a group we could make a similar Title Sequence. 

The second Title Sequence i watched was Ed Wood this has one of the longer Title sequences which is around 3 minutes Long. This title sequence is quite Dark and intense with the music being quite Dark as well. 

One of the first Title Sequence to be made was done in 1936 which was Show Boat. This was done by John W Harkrider.  The purpose if the title Sequence is to entice the viewer into watching the film and getting the viewer interested. 

Documentary

Today in big Johns we learned about different documentary Makers. The first one i learned about was Ross Kemp who made a documentary on different gangs in america and around the worldn the show Kemp travels around the world talking to gang members, locals who have been affected by gang violence, and the authorities who are attempting to combat the problem.
The second one I learned about was Ric O'barry  who made the film The Cove is a 2009 Documentary film that describes the annual killing of dolphins in a Quasi-National Park in Japan from an ocean conservationist's point of view. The film highlights the fact that the number of dolphins killed in the Taiji Dolphin hunting drive is several times greater than the number of whales killed in the Antarctic
The third one I learned about was Micheal Moore who made the documentary Sicko is a 2007 documentary film by American filmmaker Micheal Moore. The film investigates health care in the united states, focusing on its health insurance and the pharmaceutical industry. The film compares the for-profit, non-universal U.S. system with the non-profituniversal health care systems of Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Cuba.





The fourth one i learned about was Louis Theroux who made the documentary weird weekends about lives viewers the chance to get brief glimpses into the worlds of individuals and groups that they would not normally come into contact with or experience up close. In most cases this means interviewing people with extreme beliefs of some kind, or just generally belonging to subcultures not known to exist by most or just frowned upon.

BBC trip

Last night with the college we went on a trip to BBC scotland to see a recording of The Life of Riley With Caroline Quentin.  I quite enjoyed watching this because i got to see how the recording of a of a tv programme works and also how a tv studio works withthe cameramen and the boom mics.

Title sequences

Today we learned about Title sequences we tried to find ones that used animation and we could take different ideas from:

The title sequence I looked at was the title sequence for Casino Royale I found this interesting because of the style that has been used which is a pack of cards because of the film name casino Royale also the colors are quite bright which would attract the audience.

pixar

Today in  Dees Class we watched a film on Pixar. I learned that Pixar is in Emeryville San Fransisco i also learned that pixar only accept Ideas from there own employees and that the ideas are normally unusual. i also learned that storyboards and scripts can take up to 2 and a half years and also that in Toystory Woody used to be selfish. The man thing I learned is that Randy Newman is the man. I also learned that the room number A113 is in every Pixar Movie and that most of the animators went to the california institute Of the Arts.

Dees Class

Today in Dees Class we reviewed all the animations we made yesterday. The First one we viewed was our one called the Fight which was pretty good but we could have made it a bit slower. The second one we Viewed was the Devils Cola Which i gave 7/10 because it was pretty good but it was a little mixed up. The  last  one we viewed was felt fun which i gave 5/10 because it was good but could have been better if it was slower and last a bit longer.

Today in Hannahs Class we made a stop motion animation. In my Group were james and roy we made an animation which involves a seahorse and a crab fighting

Big johns Class

Today in big johns class we learned about different video artists what they have made and why they have made it. The first video artist we learned about was Douglas Gordon who is a scottish artist who made the film Zidane which consists of 17 cameras following zidane in one football match. In the film The scottish Band Mogwais Music was used.

The second video we learned about was the Video by Sony Bravia which consists of 250,000 bouncy balls of different colors being thrown down one street. This was made by Nicolai Fuglsig This was done because Bravia's slogan is Color like No Other   so multi Colored balls were used.

The Third artist we learned about was Jonathan Glazer who created the next advert for Sony Bravia which consists of a condemned tower block in Scotland which was covered in 70,000 litres of environmentally friendly paint with the help of over 1400 separate explosions featured as imitation fireworks, concluding with a simulated "reverse demolition" of the building. This was filmed with a crew of 200 people over a 10 day period. The music in the commercial was done by Gioachino Rossini.

Today in dees class i finished my drip animation which consisted of 33 frames . The animation is of a drip of water dripping from the ceiling into a puddle of water below causing a splash. click on the box to see the animation

today in hannahs class we watched a documentary on pixar i found out lady and the tramp was made in 1955 we then did a quiz on pixar

Today in dees class i finished making my flick book by finishing doing the drawing and also colouring them in. I then went on to scan my three different pages and saving them so i can make a digital animation.
i also done this so i can crop it in photoshop

Today in Big Johns Class we started making storyboards for our zombie film we have started. Firstly we went over a few ideas of what we could put in our zombie film before writing them down and putting them in a storyboard..

today in animation we started making flick books by drawing a sequence of images changing slightly each time drawn on a different frame. each frame is a sequence of images which should be flicked at 24 frames per second. Making flick books is a long process as you have too draw out each image on a different frame but only changing the drawing a little bit each time so it looks smooth and flowing when it is being flicked. Today we made a story board then started making our own flick books

Animation With Dee

Today we reviewed a powerpoint on moodle about old and contemporary forms of animation. we then went on to do different presentations on each of our favourite animations mine was space jam because of the combination of live action and animation. Four types of animation are cut out, drawing, stop motion and also CGI.

Animation

Animation is a rapid display of a sequence of images  which is a type of optical illusion.
Two different types of early animation are the phenakistoscope and the flip book.
A phenakistoscope is a spinning dic attached to a handle. around the centre is a disc with a series of pictures drawn corresponding to the frames. a flip book is a book with a series is drawing flipped to create animation.

Two contemporary types of animation are computer animation and stop motion animation. computer animation is animation create digitally on the computer . Stop motion animation is created by physically manipulating real world object and moving them creating the effect that they are moving.

The difference between early animation and contemporary animation is that technology has moved on meaning most animation can be done digitally which means there is a lot more tools to use which could save a lot more time than sitting redrawing everything.

My Favourite all time animation is Space-Jam because it has one of the original forms of animation and acting working together .
